

Fred S. Moore Jr. Fred S. Moore Jr. passed just before 3a.m. (9/24/18) as a result of injuries from a fall suffered on 9/19/18. The son of Ann Spellman Moore and Fred S. Moore Sr. was preceded by his wife Jean Manning Moore and eldest son Fred S. Moore III. He is survived by his youngest son Kevin Manning Moore. He graduated Ramsey High School and joined The Army where he served in the Indian air supply for WWII.He graduated University of Alabama with degrees in engineering and economics. He went to work for Alabama Power Company and designed the Wilsonville coal powered plant that became the design for future coal fired generating stations.He then achieved a doctorate in law from Cumberland school of law from Samford University and went to work as a corporate attorney for Southern Company Services administrating construction contracts for the Farley nuclear units in Dothan Alabama which he was then in charge of maintenance until his retirement in 1986.He was a proponent in starting AAU swimming at Mountain Brook Swim and Tennis Club.He will be remembered and missed. It is his wish that in leu of flowers that you please make a donation to Children's Hospital of Birmingham. Services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on October 2, 2018 with viewing and remembrance at 1:00 p.m., service at 2:00 p.m.
