BROOM, GEORGE DAVIS age 68 of Chelsea, passed away on February 6, 2012. George is survived by his wife, Diane; daughter Kristy Osorio (Tody); sister, Bette Smith (Houghton); his beloved dog Jack and two birds, Scooter and Squeaky. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces including nephew Davis Smith (Caroline); niece Mary Beth Jemison (Walker); niece Jackie Rush (Matt); niece Nicole Carter (Gregg) as well as many loving friends. George graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1962 and attended the University of Alabama. He was a member of the Warblers Club of Woodlawn High School and was in the National Guard. George was a proud, ardent supporter of Alabama football. George and his Wife, Diane, were members of Eastminster Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir. George retired from Mayer Electric after 34 years of service. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society . A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 11:00 am at Elmwood Cemetery. >
