Gerald Loel Vines Jr.

Gerald “Jerry” Loel Vines, Jr. age 60 of Birmingham, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026. Jerry was born August 2, 1965 to Charlotte Barrett Vines and Gerald L. Vines, Sr. He grew up in the East Lake and Huffman area.

After working jobs in Louisiana and Florida, he came home and went in business with his Dad. He spent the next 33 years in accounting with his Dad. They had an accounting office in Woodlawn.

Jerry has two beautiful granddaughters who were the light of his life. Emalee and Abigail. He has one daughter Allyson.

Jerry is survived by his mother, Charlotte Barrett Vines; daughter, Allyson Vines Eakin; granddaughters, Emalee Jade Keene and Abigail Grace Eakin; uncle, Randy (Latricia) Vines; cousin, David Barrett; and other cousins and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Loel Vines, Sr.; grandparents, Charles Emery Barrett and Ruth Smith Barrett and Loel C. and Estelle Hartley Vines; aunt, Laura Lou Vines Guarr; uncle, Tommy Guarr; and his wife, Betty Jo Oden.

Jerry had several friends like brothers, Allen King, Jerry Ash, Barry Cook, Mark Pate, and Gary Hamic; and girls Janet Olive and Kristy Coleman from his school days. A special friend Warren Seay who was always willing to help.

There will be a celebration of life scheduled at a later time. If anyone wishes to make a donation to his memory, they may be made to Tunnels to Towers or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
