She worked as a beautician for many years and owned two beauty shops in her lifetime. She was also a talented seamstress and spent much of her life in front of her sewing machine. Jeri was a born entertainer and was not afraid of the spotlight. She loved singing country music and strumming her guitar. She had a larger than life personality and was always the life of the party. She loved to travel and visited over 25 countries throughout her life. She was a die hard Alabama football fan and spent many years traveling in their motor home to cheer on the Crimson Tide.
Jeri was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Nester, mother Helen Canterbury Forsyth, husband John “Jack” Nester, brother Bill Bays, and husband Harold McBride.
She is survived by her son Kelly Edward (Maudeen) Smith, daughter Palmanita “Pam” Burton, granddaughter Kelly (Bruce) Robertson, grandson Jonathan (Lindsay) Burton, great-grandsons Jacob Robertson and Leo Burton, and great-granddaughters Catelynn Robertson and Alexandra Burton.
