
VICK, HALE BROWN, age 90 of Birmingham, passed away September 25, 2014. He was born in Kentucky. Hale served in the U.S. Army during WWII and graduated from Gupton-Jones College in Nashville, TN in funeral service. After retiring from Union Oil Company he reentered the industry he loved in 1985 with Ridout’s Brown Service. He joined Huffman Baptist Church in 1967 and served as deacon and usher. Hale was a member of Huffman Masonic Lodge and was recently recognized for 60 years of service. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolyn Bishop; and grandchildren, Adrianne Bishop and Joel Swinford. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Loudean Vick; daughters, Sandra Lee (Wayne) and Kathy Swinford (Keith); grandchildren, Michael Lee, Rachel Shores and Leah Swinford; great-grandchildren, Caroline Lee, Trevor Lee, Peyton Lee and Corbin Shores; and several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 5-7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. His service will be at the chapel on Monday, September 29, 2014 beginning at 11 AM with Bro. Larry Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huffman Baptist Church or your charity of choice.
