Born on April 21, 1928, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Sam and Eva Rittenberg. Helene moved to Birmingham at a young age and graduated from Phillips High School in 1946. She made Birmingham her lifelong home and became a cherished member of the community.
Helene was a devoted member of Temple Beth-El for over 60 years. Her deep connection to her faith was evident in her love for celebrating Jewish traditions and holidays, which she embraced with joy and reverence throughout her life.
She shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Irvin N. Wolf, who preceded her in death. Together they built a warm and loving home filled with laughter, creativity, and enduring values.
Helene is survived by her daughter Carol Damsky (Mitch), her son Steve Wolf (Nan), Sister-In-Law Gloria Rittenberg, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her.
A woman of many talents and passions, Helene found joy in painting, interior decorating, and knitting. Her artistic spirit was matched by her vibrant personality—she had a gift for making friends wherever she went and truly never met a stranger.
She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Jay Rittenberg (Barbara) and Harold Rittenberg.
Helene’s legacy lives on through the family she nurtured and the friendships she cultivated over nearly a century of life. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
