Irene King Miller, age 95, of Fairfield, Alabama passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at The Oaks On Parkwood. Irene was born April 23, 1926. She was known to be a very hard worker, being employed by only one company for her entire working career for over fifty years, with many, many loyal years of service at Protective Life Insurance Company. She was very well known among her family to be detailed and to have anything done by a simple telephone and phone book, which still amazes everyone to this day.
She never had an issue making new friends and lasting relationships, it is true she never met a stranger. Having a very sharp memory, she earned the name Aunt Google, as she could recall the smallest of details from generations back such as days, names, events, and dates which was a blessing for all that knew her.
Irene is preceded in death by her father: Charles Eskin King, and her mother Grace Kelley King, along with her loving husband Sam B. Miller and her sisters: Mavis Peruner, Dora Hinton, and brother Edwin Williams.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her other brothers: Robert Charles King, Donald Williams, and her sister Edith K. Stewart, with many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great- great nieces and nephews.
There is a message from Irene that she has asked to be announced. It is a poem she had wrote which will be shared below.....
" To All Of My Love Ones"
By: Irene King Miller
When tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand that
an angel came and called my
name, and took me by the hand,
The angel said, " my place was
ready in heaven far above."
And that I'd have to leave behind,
all those I dearly love, But when
I walked through Heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home. For God
looked down and smiled at me, and
told me "WELCOME HOME!" I'm
with Sam now, Where I always wanted
to be, We will walk together on that
golden shore in each other's arms.
So when tomorrow starts without me,
every time you think of me, I'll be right
there in your heart...….
There will be a Graveside Service on January 31, 2022 at 2PM in Elmwood Cemetery. Adhering to the spread of Covid 19, the family request that everyone practice precautions with social distancing.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.johnsridoutselmwoodchapel.com for the Miller family.
