Jack Lindsey Penfield age 88, Green Pond, Alabama passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 into eternal life with God our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. At age 17 Jack left Ramsey High School to enlist in the U.S. Navy. He served 15 months until the end of World War II. He returned home and completed his high school education and went on to work for and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Jack is predeceased by his parents James Earl and Lille Mai Penfield; brother James K. Penfield and nephew Larry B. Penfield. He is survived by his wife Norma Jean Miller Penfield with whom he shared a very long and happy life; daughters Carol Burgay of Northport and Karen Horn of Green Pond; son in law James Horn; granddaughters Jamie Mitchell (Chris) and Kelly Davis (Jeremy); great grandsons Devin, Braley, Jackson and Connor. Nephews James Penfield (Helen) and Tommy Penfield (Donna).
