

James A. Brooks, affectionately known as "Jimbo", age 61, of Springville, Alabama passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018. He was born April 19, 1956 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Betty and Percy Brooks.
James was preceded in passing by his beloved wife of 30 years, Kelly Brooks. Their love began in their teenage years, and we find comfort in knowing they are together again.
He is survived by his daughter Jamie Gay and her husband Eric; his siblings Mike Brooks and his wife Barbara, Dale Brooks and his wife Darlene, and Janet Latta and her husband Don; and other family members Len (Susan) Warren, JD (Chrissy) Latta, and Jessica (Nick) Nichols amongst many other relatives and friends.
James worked as a truck driver for R&L Carriers for 25 years. He was a hardworking man and enjoyed his career. He also loved spending time going to the movies, out to dinner and playing table games at the casino with his daughter, Jamie. James was a fan of Classic Rock, especially Bad Company, which also happened to be his CB handle. "Jimbo" will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
A visitation for James will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 12 pm - 2 pm at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, Alabama, followed by a Celebration of Life officiated by Pastor Steve Traylor at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Birmingham, Alabama.
