

Jay D. Lowe, 47, recently of Steele, Alabama passed away on August 28, 2018. He was born to James Edward Sr. and Joyce (Wolfe) Lowe in Birmingham, Alabama on February 21, 1971. Jay was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.
He was preceded in passing by his grandparents: Sylvester and Lora Anndora Lowe & J.D. and Annie Margaret Wolfe; his brother, Darren Lowe; uncles David Wolfe and Richard Lee Wolfe; aunts Ruth and Willie Opal on the Lowe side; and uncles O’Neal, V.W., Jerry, and Lewis on the Lowe side.
Jay is survived by his parents James Edward Sr. and Joyce Lowe; son Thomas “T.J.” Lowe; sister Sabrina Lowe; brother James Lowe Jr.; step-children Chrisy (Buck) Isbell, Beth (Jonathan) Nichols, and Candy Higginbotham; nephew Jordan Lowe; niece Whitney Lowe; uncles Danny (Charlotte) Wolfe and Robert (Mary) Wolfe; aunts Judy, Ann, Florene, Wilma, Bonnie, and Vera Faye on the Lowe side; great-aunt Sue C. Thibodeaux; best friend Charles Thomas; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and friends that will carry on his legacy.
Jay was a proud redneck. He loved to hunt, fish, and have a good time. He was easy-going and a kid at heart. Jay was an avid fan of Alabama football. He also loved his pets, specifically his mini schnauzer and ferrets. Jay was a friend to everyone. Most importantly, Jay graciously and happily filled the role of being a father to his nephew, Jordan. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 1 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Graveside service will follow at Calcedonia Community Cemetery in Sardis, Alabama at 1:00 pm.
Guests are invited and encouraged to wear Bama apparel and hunting gear to Jay’s services in honor of a few of his passions in life.
