Jeff and I were best friends in elementary school.  We both attended E.B. Erwin Elementary School and Center Point Baptist Church.  He was one day older than me and today he would have been 64 years old.  My family moved from Birmingham to Shelby county in 1973 when Jeff and I were 13 but I have always remembered this day, August 19th, as being the birthday of my friend.   In that memory I tried to look Jeff up today and was saddened to learn my friend had recently passed.  My deepest condolences to Jeff's family.  I do remember some of you and I fondly remember your mother's "cat-eye" glasses that she wore in the 60s and 70s.  I am very sorry for your loss and I will always remember this day and think of my old friend.
