Jerome "Jerry" J. Rankin

Jerry was born on February 4, 1949, in Louisville, KY. He was a 1967 graduate of DeSales High School and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Louisville. Jerry loved sports, especially his Kentucky Wildcats and the NY Mets. During his retirement years, he enjoyed traveling, volunteering, and gardening. Most days you would find him working on a project in his backyard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Rankin and Anna Louise Boettner; and stepson, Nicholas Holbrook.

He is survived by his loving wife Anne Steinmetz Rankin; daughter, Kristi Rankin Behr (Mike); sons, Jerome “Alex” Rankin and Jonathan Rankin; brothers Mike Rankin (Kathleen), and John Rankin; and grandchildren, Aidan Behr, Owen Behr, Easton Behr, and Maisie Rankin.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 24th at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home 3800 Bardstown Road. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 –8 p.m. and Friday from 10–11 a.m.
