Joan G. Morris age 64 of McCalla passed away September 18, 2011. She was born November 23, 1946 In Hattiesburg, MS. Mrs. Morris was a Master Cosmetologist and a successful business woman. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bessemer. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Perlis E. Morris; mother Raoma Cleo Mangione; brother, Steven Trest; and Gene Gentry. She is survived by her daughter, April G. Mulkey (James R. Mulkey); father, Pete N. Mangione; sisters, Maria Margo Stokes (Jerry Stokes) and Terri Trest; brothers, Tony Mangione (Betty Mangione) and Jeff Trest; stepson, John Morris; stepdaughter, Deborah Morris; step granddaughter, Ashley Morris; uncle, Joe Mangione; aunts, Virginia Renta, Bertha Stewart, and Josephine Cahill (Robert Cahill), and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Joan's life will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 11:00-1:00 at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel.
