Mr. Joseph Anthony Gugliotta age 91 of Pelham passed away on April 03, 2017. He was formerly of the Edgewater and Ensley communities. Mr. Gugliotta served in the U.S. Army during WW II and achieved the rank of Staff Sgt., where he participated in the liberation of the Phillipines with the Aiborne Division. He was in the grocery business for 65 years, loved fishing and was an avid Alabama football fan. He was also an original member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his son Samuel Gugliotta and is survived by his wife of 70 years Mrs. Mary Dipiazza Gugliotta. He is also survived by his daughter Carolyn Gloor (Tom) and his son Anthony Gugliotta and two grandchildren Thomas W. Gloor III, and Michael C. Gloor. Graveside service will be held Friday April 07, 2017 at Elmwood Cemetery with Elmwood Chapel directing.
