Joe attended Patchogue-Medford High School, Suffolk County Community College, and Banff Centre in Canada. His diverse skills extended to sound and lighting, engineering, and photography. With a natural curiosity, he had a keen ability to assess his surroundings and a passion for understanding how things worked, always eager to learn and fix whatever was needed. He became a Certified HVAC Technician and a Certified Ketogenic Coach.
Joe was a devout Christian and was a dedicated member of Jesus is Lord Church in Holtsville, NY, where he served as a sound and lighting engineer. His meticulous attention to detail ensured that every aspect of the worship service was clear and free from feedback. Joe met the love of his life, Cynthia Watts, at Jesus is Lord Church in 1984, and they were married on May 30, 1998. A devoted husband, he cherished his wife and family, always ensuring they were well cared for. Joe enjoyed his family, had a great sense of humor, and was willing to do almost anything including having tea parties with his granddaughters and playing games with his nieces and nephews.
Feeling the call of God, Joe and Cynthia were led to Eagle Mountain International Church in Newark, Texas, in 2003 where he continued to serve faithfully. He was part of the team who drove the 18-wheeler trucks transporting equipment and set ups for the ministry throughout the country. In addition to his technical expertise, he was the head chef, preparing meals for staff as well as Brother Copeland with skill and love. Joe’s love of cooking was unparalleled-his meals were not just nourishment but an expression of love, appreciated by everyone who had the pleasure of tasting them.
In 2022, Joe and his wife, Cynthia, joined the Church International Ministry in Warrior, Alabama, where they continued their journey of faith and service.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia; his children, Keithley Watts (Athenia) of Virginia and Veronica Watts of Georgia; and his cherished grandchildren: Tristan, Keithley, Jr., Kina, and Kiarra. He is also survived by his siblings: Vito (Dominique) of Florida, Spencer (Jean) of Florida, Peter and Maria of New York, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other beloved relatives.
Joe’s kindness, devotion, and passion for life will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
