Oct. 12, 1943 - Aug. 2, 2016 Judith C. Carlisle of Leeds formally a long time residence of Grayson Valley , passed away on August 2, 2016 at the age of 72. She is preceded in death by her husband, Van Huey Carlisle and mother, Maybelle Harris. Judith is survived by her son, Jeff (Diana) Carlisle; grandson, Van Carlisle; sister, Linda McGuffie; niece, Lisa (Bo)Smith; nephew, David McGuffie; and "her fella" Tony Graves. She was a long time employee of Alabama Freight and she acquired the company in 1989. She was elected to the Alabama Trucking Association Board of Directors in 1994.As a result, she became the first female to hold a seat on the board. She was the co-owner of Southeastern Brokerage and J. Van Freight and Cargo. She was the first lady of Alabama Seniors Golf Association. She was a loving mother to many and remarkable business woman. The visitation will be held at Ridout's Trussville Chapel on Friday August 5, 2016 from 5-7 pm. A celebration of life service will be Saturday August 6, 2016 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel at 11 am with burial to follow at Forest Crest Cemetery.
