Kenneth Wayne Beard

age 75, of Birmingham, passed away on Dec. 31, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Lawis and Agnes Lott Beard on May 11, 1941 in Flat Top, AL. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sara H. Dyer Beard; son, Kenneth Beard Jr. (Heidi); daughters, Teresa Beard Harrison (James) and Sonya Beard Carre; grandchildren, J.B. Beard (April), Jessica Jones, Kayla Beard, Casey Carre, Sage Harrison, Alaina Beard; great granddaughter, Melody Lee Beard and a host of nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was an avid fisherman. He loved to cook fish for family and friends. He was best known for his secret hush puppy seasoning. He was a member of the 252 Transportation Company in the U.S. Army. He was a member of McElwain Baptist Church for over 30 years. He also was a member of First Baptist Church Irondale since 2006. He loved to garden and gave away fresh vegetables to friends, neighbors and fellow church members, especially the widows. He greatly appreciated his doctors, nurses, and Alacare Hospice and many friends for their care of him during his 2 1/2 year illness. He will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends Tuesday Jan. 3, 2017 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel from 5 -7 P.M. Funeral service will be Wednesday Jan. 4, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. with a visitation an hour before at First Baptist Church Irondale.
