Kevin Lee Davis, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was 55 years old.
Kevin was born on May 5, 1969, to Diane and Austin Davis Sr. of Hoover, Alabama, where he grew up. He graduated from Shades Mountain Christian School, class of 1987, and earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Alabama at Birmingham. He spent the majority of his career as a general contractor, working the past six years as a project manager at Cottage Supply Company.
By friends and family, Kevin will be fondly remembered for his one-of-kind sense of humor and fun personality, his big-hearted kindness and generosity, his talent and creativity with woodworking, and his love of outdoor sports like hunting and fishing.
Kevin was a longtime member of Shades Mountain Community Church, where he professed faith in Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, and enjoyed serving his church family in any way needed and going on various missions trips.
Kevin is preceded in death by his mother, Diane Waits Davis. He is survived by his father, Austin “Butter” Davis Sr.; his two brothers, Doug Davis (Danean) and Austin Davis Jr. (Adrienne); nieces, Molly Davis and Emily Davis; and nephews, Matthew Davis and Evan Davis. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The celebration of Kevin’s life will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Shades Mountain Community Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 11a.m. at the church.
