Linda Hagood Henley, age 80, of Pinson, Alabama, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, in Florence, Alabama. Linda was born on September 5, 1942, in Louisville, KY, to the late Carl L. and Margaret Hagood. Linda worked as a school bus driver for more than 30 years. On their daily commute, she greeted children from the Jefferson County Board of Education School System. Linda was a primary bus driver and supporter of the Mortimer Jordan High School Marching Band for decades. She drove them to all their games and competitions statewide. Linda also touched many lives as a substitute teacher. Linda was tough as nails and relied on the Lord for her strength and courage. She mowed her own grass until she was in her mid-70s. Linda was a proud and patriotic American and had the utmost respect for military service members, veterans, and law enforcement, so much so that she became a member of the Jefferson County Citizens Patrol when it was active.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Donna L. Hagood. Those left to cherish her memories are sons, Wayne Tolleson and Mark Tolleson; daughter, Elaine Middleton; brother, Carl Hagood; Sister-in-law, Mary Hagood; and grandchildren, Hailey Middleton, Hunter Middleton, Spencer Tolleson, Daniel Tolleson, Brody Tolleson, and Owen Tolleson.
A celebration of life for Linda will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Adam Hagood, Brody Tolleson, Kevin Hagood, Owen Tolleson, Spencer Tolleson, and Daniel Tolleson. Honorary pallbearer is Hunter Middleton.
