Linvil Davis (Ikey), 88, of Johns Creek, GA, formerly of Birmingham, passed away Aug. 29, 2013. Linvil was born November 30, 1924 and attended Phillips, Hewitt-Trussville High Schools and Howard College (Samford). He served 3 ½ years in the Army Air Corp and was employed at New England Life in Birmingham for 38 years. He was a member of Huffman Baptist Church and Perimeter Church in Atlanta. Linvil is preceded in death by his parents, Linvil and Sarah Vernon Chambers Davis and brother, Andrew Perry Davis. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Martha Lou Young Davis, daughters Donna Norris (Lanny), Dale Weed (Allen), son Larry (Julie), five grandchildren, Jennifer Hunt (Buddy), Jeff Norris (Rachel), Ryan Weed (Keli), Dustin Davis, Blake Davis, and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sept. 1 at 1:00 at Elmwood Chapel, with service following at 2:00. Special thanks to Hospice Atlanta for their kindness, love, and care.
