She is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Douglas Smitherman.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Mollie) Smitherman and Mark (April) Smitherman; and four grandchildren, Alexa Smitherman; Jackson Smitherman; Mia Smitherman; and Mason Smitherman. She is also survived by longtime friend, Jimmy Marlow.
Visitation will be at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 9:30-10:30 am with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 am at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Everyone is welcome to a reception at the home of Marilyse after services.
