She was born to the late Arvelia and Fred Reynolds on June 12, 1940 in Birmingham, Alabama. Martha graduated from West End High School. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega social sorority.
She was married to John E. Dorsett in 1958. Martha is survived by her husband of 63 years, John E. Dorsett and children Kathy Dorsett Raughley (Erwin) and Eddie Dorsett (Beth Ann). She is also survived by her six grandchildren that she truly adored: Winn Raughley (Whitney), Caroline Luscher (Hayes), Anna-Wesley Corhern (Grant), Mary-Claire Weeks (Andy), Hayden Barnett (Drew) and John “Foo” Dorsett, III. She is also survived by her brother, Knox Reynolds (Shirley).
Martha “Gran”, was immensely proud of her family. She loved her church family at First Baptist Church of Birmingham and her Wisdom Seekers Sunday school class.
A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church of Birmingham on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 with visitation from 3-4pm and the service to follow. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First Baptist Church of Birmingham.
