
Vann, Mary Elizabeth, age 85 of Ocala, Fl passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 4, 2012. A native of Tarrant City, Al, she moved to Ocala in 2005, from Chalkville to be closer to her daughters. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Chalkville and was active in all phases of church work including teaching children of all ages. She served as WMU Director for 35 years at First Baptist of Chalkville and was Chief Voting Clerk for over 15 years in her community. Her many hobbies included sewing, traveling, reading, singing in her church choir, and being involved with her church in any capacity for 74 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Enos Vann Jr. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Joy Vann Upton and Cindy Vann Harris; a brother, Dan Self; her four grandchildren, Brian Harris, Lauren Upton Beutin, Blake Harris, and Meredith Upton Donnelly; six great grandchildren, Makailah Witka, Taylor Witka, Barrett Beutin, Kate Beutin, Kinley Harris, and Vann Harris.
Services will be Saturday, January 7, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Chalkville at 3:00 PM with visitation for friends and family from 2 until 3 PM. Rev. Joel Farrow will officiate the service and burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery, adjoining the church.
