Obituary “Love is the only thing we can take with us when we go; and it makes the end so easy” Author Unknown Mary Ruth Crawford Vaughn, better known as Mother Vaughn by those whose lives she touched, began her journey on February 14, 1923 in Autaugaville, Alabama. She was the youngest of four children, born to Mark and Maldonia Crawford. The family later moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where she attended Immaculata Catholic School. She later studied nursing at Wenonah Training School, and practiced under Drs. Earl and Alwyn Sugarman for many years. On December 11, 1945, she married her husband, Robert H. Vaughn, Sr., her beloved “Buddy”. Left to cherish her memory is Robert, Jr., Vivian, Warren, Sandra, Reginald and a host of grandchildren, great grands, great - great grands, nieces and nephews.
