Heaven got a little sweeter May 18, 2017 as Fay Carroll Williams was called home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Williams; husband Charles H. Carroll, Sr.; son Arthur Wayne Lovell, Sr. She is survived by step-sons Barry Carroll and Charles Carroll; grandsons Wayne Lovell and Tim Lovell; 2 step-grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Fay was born October 14, 1923 and graduated from Ensley High School in 1941. She served as a Rosie the Riveter during W.W. II. She was a lifelong resident of Birmingham, AL and retired from Golden Flake Potato Chip Company, where she was the Office Manager for many years. Prior to joining Golden Flake, she was a Southern Bell employee. An avid sports fan, she loved the Atlanta Braves and was a dedicated Roll Tide and War Eagle supporter. Pastor Bill Decker of Hunter Street Baptist Church will conduct the graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Visitation will be at 12:00 Noon at Elmwood Chapel.
