

Born on January 1, 1938, in Alabama, Myra lived a life defined by dedication to her family, her faith, and her community.
Myra graduated from Parrish High School in Selma, Alabama, before pursuing her passion for nursing at the Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing in Birmingham. Her career as a registered nurse spanned an impressive 50 years at Princeton (Baptist Health) Hospital in Birmingham, where she provided compassionate care and unwavering support to countless patients and their families. Her commitment to caregiving extended far beyond her professional life; she was known for her selflessness and generosity, always willing to help others in need.
A devoted member of Shades Crest Baptist Church in Hoover, Alabama, for 63 years, Myra found great joy in worshiping and volunteering within her church community. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and inspired her active involvement in church activities.
Myra cherished time spent with her family and took immense pride in their accomplishments. She is survived by her daughters Katherine L. Corley and Susan Baker (John); her son Mark Corley (Deana); her sister Barbara Goodwin (Marvin); her brother Ira Glenn (Lily); grandchildren Amanda Summerford (David), Lauren Simons (Kyle), Caitlin Noel Corley, Joshua Corley (Jenna), Hannah Corley, and Jacob Corley; and great-grandchildren Corley Summerford, Tate Summerford, and Baker Simons. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of many years, Donald Earl Corley; her parents Dewey and Myrtle Glenn; grandson Donald Gwarjanski; and sister Wilma Patterson.
In addition to being a dedicated nurse and loving family member, Myra enjoyed gardening, cooking, and reading. These hobbies brought beauty and warmth into the lives of those around her. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit, while her cooking created cherished memories for family gatherings.
Myra’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, hard work, and faith. She will be remembered as a devoted caregiver who touched the lives of many through both her professional career and personal acts of kindness.
