Nolan Namie Wehby age 89 of Birmingham passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011. He was a member of St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church. Mr. Wehby was in the cartage business for 45 years and was a member of the Teamsters. He was a kind, generous, strong, but gentle man, who loved his family and saw the good in everyone. Mr. Wehby is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Saloie Wehby; his children, Denise Maalouf (John). John Wehby (Dana), and Rita Wehby; grandchildren, Aline (Marvin) Maalouf, Sam (Nadine) Maalouf, Lara (Nickolas) Maalouf, Christian Wehby, Raphaelle Wehby, Abigayle Wehby, and Adrian Wehby; great grandchildren, Kevin, Chloe, Justin, and John Maalouf. He was lovingly known to his grandchildren as "Gedo". Visitation will be Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at St. Elias from 4:00-5:00 pm followed by a Rosary at 5:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Elias with Chorbishop Richard Saad officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
