Opal Lean Hughes Humphries of Cropwell, Alabama went to be with her heavenly father on June 25, 2017. She graduated from Hamilton Secondary Agricultural School in 1942. She married Cranford Lee Humphries in 1947.
Mrs. Humphries was born on February 15, 1923 in Hamilton, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband Cranford L. Humphries; son Ronnie Humphries; parents Robert (Bob) Hughes and Lena Hardin Hughes; brothers Arnold (Bud) Hughes and Hardin Hughes; and her sisters Marjorie Boyett, Ava Lee Nixon and Artie (Sis) Estell.
Mrs. Humphries is survived by her sons Jerry (Judy) of Pell City, AL, Bobby (Rhonda) of Vincent, AL, Charles (Beverly), Dale (Dianne) and Don Humphries all from Cropwell, Alabama; brother Robert (Bunk) Hughes (Neva Gray) of Hamilton, AL; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery in Irondale. Brother David Wood will be officiating.
