

Paul graduated from Ensley High School in 1971, where he was a standout pitcher on the baseball team. He continued his education at the University of Alabama, where he was an active member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He graduated in 1975 with a degree in Communications.
A lifelong member of the Churches of Christ, Paul met the love of his life, Connie, through his church community. They were married in November 1975 and shared nearly 50 years together.
Paul dedicated 28 years of service to Baptist Health Systems, where he made many lifelong friendships. After retirement, he continued contributing to his community through roles at the Alabama Humanities Alliance and the Country Club of Birmingham. He was honored to serve as President of the Baptist Health System Retirees.
Paul was a passionate fan of the University of Alabama. He rarely missed a football, basketball, or baseball game and was a proud member of the Alabama Alumni Association and the UA Tipoff Club. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Regions Tradition and the SEC Baseball Championship.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Harry Lee Lawson; his mother, Vera Muetze Lawson; his daughter, Holli Lawson Isaminger; and his granddaughter, Presleigh Cooper Isaminger, all of Birmingham, Alabama.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie B. Lawson; his daughter, Kristi Lawson (Kevin); and his beloved grandsons, James Isaminger III and Kaleb Lawson, all of Hoover, Alabama. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry L. Lawson (Ann) of Birmingham, Alabama.

Celebrating a Life Well Lived
Paul's legacy is one of kindness, faith, service, and loyalty to family and friends. His infectious smile, encouraging words, and unwavering support will be remembered by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Elmwood Chapel from 10am until 11 am. A celebration of Paul’s life will follow. He will be laid to rest beside his daughter and granddaughter at Elmwood Cemetery.
