Peggy was born in Thorsby, AL, to Marvin & Ruby Maynard. After her family moved to Birmingham, AL, she attended and graduated with honors from West End High School. While living in Birmingham, she met and married her sweetheart, John Rogers. Together they called Birmingham their home and would raise four children; Carol, Michael, Brenda, and Timothy.
Peggy dedicated her life to serving the Lord at an early age. She was a lifelong devoted member of Berney Points Baptist Church. She enjoyed being involved in various ministries and community groups within her church.
Along with caring for her husband and four children, Peggy began a career working as a unit clerk at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. She often worked the night shift and retired after twenty-two years of service. She enjoyed caring and providing assistance to numerous patients, while supporting the doctors, nurses, and medical staff.
Peggy enjoyed being with her family and playing Bunco with her close High School friends. Food was often her love language, along with diligently sending cards and phone calls to those she loved for every occasion. She was kind hearted, compassionate, resilient, and would selflessly think of the needs of others before her own.
She was an amazing women, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be remembered for being a positive impact for others and an example of faith and service. She is appreciated for the gift that she was and deeply loved by all who knew her.
