Printis "Gordon" Burdette Jr., age 75, passed away on August 14, 2024, in Orange Beach, AL. Born on March 6, 1949, in Birmingham, AL. He was a cherished member of his fishing community and a 38-year employee of Alabama Power Company, retiring in 2005.
Gordon led a fulfilling career, serving as a Line Crew Foreman at Alabama Power Company where he loved his crew as his own family. Upon retirement, he embraced his love of the Gulf as a Charter Boat Captain. His love for the water was evident in his personal life as well, where he was an avid bass and deep-sea fisherman, passions that brought him great joy throughout his life.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Jerrie T. Burdette, his brother Bruce Burdette (Ann), his daughter Kelly Murph (Bill), and his granddaughter Elizabeth Volovecky (Bryant). Gordon was preceded in death by his father Printis G. Burdette Sr., his mother Mary Frances Burdette, and his son Lonnie Wade Burdette.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in a celebration of Gordon's life. The services will be held at Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, located at 800 Dennison Ave SW, Birmingham, AL 35211, on August 19, 2024. Visitation will commence at 1 pm, followed by the service at 2 pm.
