

Randy was born on November 12, 1944, in Mobile, Alabama. After graduating from Banks High School in 1963, he attended Jacksonville State University, earning a degree in Mathematics with a minor in Physics in 1967. He then entered the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant and proudly served for eight and a half years, attaining the rank of Captain. During his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), and the Army Commendation Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster).
In 1983, Randy earned his MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He went on to have a long career with the Jefferson County Commission, Finance Department before retiring.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Kenneth Wolfe and Eva Marie Shepherd Wolfe. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Kay Wolfe; his children, Michael (Beth) Wolfe and Stephen (Amy) Wolfe; and his beloved grandchildren, Thomas Wolfe, Josh Wolfe (Acelynn), Anna Grace Wolfe, Luke Wolfe, CJ McDonald, Jake (Ricci) McDonald, William Wolfe, Jackson Wolfe, Maggie Wolfe, and Caroline Wolfe. He is also survived by his sister, Dianne (John) Trotter, and their son, David Trotter.
Randy will be remembered for his dedication to family, service to his country, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
His family will celebrate his life with visitation on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 2-3 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with his service beginning at 3:00. Burial will be at Alabama National Cemetery on Friday, September 12, 2025 beginning at 10:15 AM.
