Rayburn D.Nichols, 72 went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. After serving in the US Navy, Rayburn was employed as an iron worker for30 years. During this time he was an active member of the Masons and the Shriners. He also built his life around Martial Arts achieving his 9th degree black belt, and with the help of his wife and family, developed the International Karate Federation. He was loved by so many, and touch so many life's. He was, in a lot of people's eyes a superhero who will be profoundly missed. He is survived by his wife Doris of 51 years, 3 children, Rhnea Nichols, Mike Nichols and Mark Nichols, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Rev. Lloyd Barker and Jimmy Nichols will be officiating funeral services on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel at 3 p.m. with burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
