Mrs. Ruth Green Stuart, of Birmingham, passed away Dec. 18, 2015 at age 96. She was born on December 18, 1919 in Talladega County, Alabama to J.W. and Ressie Horn Green. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Stuart and her daughter Jackie S. Martin. Mrs. Stuart is survived by her daughter Judith S. Myers (John); granddaughters Kelli Moman (Barry), Karen Martin, Lauren Tillapaugh (Jeff); grandson Stuart Myers (Holly); and great-grandchildren Rusty Leslie, Tyler Leslie, Maren Tillapaugh and Benjamin Stuart Myers. Mrs. Stuart was very active for many years in Ensley Baptist church and especially enjoyed the XYZ group there. In addition she was an active volunteer with groups such as the Girl Scouts, Bush School PTA, Ensley High School Thespians and Garden Clubs in the Ensley area. Services will be at Elmwood chapel at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015 with visitation beginning at noon. The Rev. John Mount will officiate.
