Sam was a lifelong iron worker and welder, often working alongside his brother and father. He loved spending time outdoors and with animals. He always enjoyed watching old westerns and showing vintage Corvettes.
He is survived by his brother Robert Kurtts and his wife Lynn. His uncle Doug Holland with wife Lyn, Aunt Marion Camp (Huntsville), Aunt Margaret Holland (Huntsville). His nieces Kristen Kurtts Lamb (husband Justin) and Kathleen Kurtts Weaver (husband Ben), along with numerous cousins.
A visitation for Samuel will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave Sw, Birmingham, AL 35211. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211.
