Betty retired from U.S. Pipe and Foundry in Bessemer after 30 years of dedicated service. A woman of deep faith, she was well known for her love of Christ and her steadfast devotion to serving Him throughout her life.
She was also a gifted pianist whose beautiful, distinctive style touched the hearts of many. Betty generously shared her musical talents by playing for church services, singing groups, local retirement homes, friends, and family. Even in her final days, she continued to play for those who came to visit her, bringing comfort and joy through her music.
Betty is survived by her children: daughter Liz Templeton (Neal), and sons James C. Limbaugh (Renee) and Lee Limbaugh; her grandsons, Scott Limbaugh and Mark Limbaugh (Joelle); two great-grandchildren; and her brother, Michael H. "Chinky" Cowart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Al Schwarzkopf; her son, Lance Limbaugh; and her grandson, Evan Limbaugh.
Betty will be lovingly remembered for her generous heart, her encouraging spirit, and the love of Christ that radiated throughout her life.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Johns‑Ridout, Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.
