March 14, 1936 - May 29, 2016 Shirley Poe Smelley of Tarrant, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Smelley; son, Jeff Smelley; her parents, Harry & Lala Poe; and brother, Chester Poe. She is survived by her daughter, Allison Smelley Kaiser (Steven); four sisters, Bea Hovies, Pat Varden, Grace Dove, Melony Adams; and one grandchild, Clint Smelley. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tarrant. Family will receive friends on Thursday June 02, 2016 from 11:30am – 1pm at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. Services will follow at 1pm. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
