Thomas Walter Mickle, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on September 6, 2023. He was born on November 30, 1940 to Thomas Rudolph Mickle and Willie Cooper Mickle in Blossburg, AL. Thomas married his “Sweet Darling” Florence “Flo” Jett Mickle in July of 1964 who preceded him in death in 2020. Thomas is survived by his daughter; Melodie Mickle, son; Perry (Amanda) Mickle, and daughter; Mariea Mickle. Thomas has two grandchildren; Madison (Cameron) Sulzby and Jacob Mickle. Thomas also has a great- granddaughter; Ellie Joy Sulzby, on the way that is due in October 2023. Thomas has 3 sisters and 3 brothers, many nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
Thomas loved fishing and watching Alabama football. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; going to the beach and sitting out on the balcony watching the waves of the ocean.
A funeral service for Thomas will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave SW, Birmingham, AL 35211 with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow immediately in Elmwood Cemetery.
