He is preceded in death by his father and mother, his grandparents who raised him, and three brothers
He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years Zolemma Smith Glass, daughters Terissa Glass Mendum (David) and Selena Glass DeGiovanni (Mike); grandchildren Andrew Christian Long (Savannah), Jonathan David Mendum, Aaron Joshua Long, Joseph William-Travis Mendum (Bryanna), River Anna Elise Long, and Adin Gene Emmanuel Long, one great-grandson Wesson Stone Mendum, and brother Ronnie Brasher; along with nieces and nephews, cousins and friends
Visitation will be held at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235, US, on May 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at Ridout's Trussville Chapel on May 7, 2026, at 11:00 am.
