Vicky Frawley Fortune

Vicky Frawley Fortune of Trussville, AL passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the age of 71. Vicky was an amazing and dedicated wife, mother, sister, and so much more. She was very much loved and will be missed immensely. Vicky was a graduate of the University of Montevallo with a degree in both Mathematics and English. She worked as a computer programmer and coder for 13 years at Sonat. She made the choice to leave Sonat and begin the even more demanding job of stay-at-home mom to her two daughters. Vicky loved to do crossword puzzles, go to plays, Broadway shows, and travel with her husband, particularly in search of Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives restaurants. Vicky was also a longtime member of Huffman United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrell Alan Fortune; her parents, Michael W. Frawley and Lola Duke Frawley. She is survived by her daughters, Shelby (Chris) Fortune Rotenberry and Kate (Nathan) Fortune Holt; Sister, Michelle (Jimmy) Frawley Wesson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, with a service at 2:00 PM. The service will be followed by a reception of remembrance and celebration of Vicky’s life. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Shriners Hospital, or Tunnels to Towers Foundation, in memory of Vicky.
