Virginia M. Gallo

Gallo, Virginia M. 92 passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010. Virginia was a member of 30 years at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Birmingham, Alabama. Virginia was Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Greeter, Past President of St. Francis Alter Sodality, and President of St. Martha’s Band. Virginia also was a long time member of the Birmingham Business and Professional Women’s Association. She is a retired Jefferson County school teacher, and taught American History and Social Studies at Minor High School, also taught Alabama History on Alabama Educational Television. Virginia is survived by her sons, Anthony J. (Jan Chevalier) Gallo, Kenneth F. (Donna Lees) Gallo, daughter, Elizabeth Gallo (William) King, two grandchildren, Anthony J. Gallo,III and Grant Gallo King, sister, Reba Belding. The funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Friday, September 3, 2010 with burial following at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Gadsden Highway. Virginia will be greatly missed by family and friends.
