Virginia Mae, What a dear lady whose love of the Lord shone on her kind face. She will be missed at church.

Beautiful person with a beautiful smile.  She made me feel like I was one of the family.

She touched by heart & soul. I will miss her dearly .  I'm a better person from knowing her.

Wonderful actress and dear sweet person. So many great memories of her on the stage at The Little Theatre, Town and Gown,the Virginia Samford Theatre and her crazy eggs served at cast parties.

Virginia Mae was indeed the first lady of Birmingham theater and it has been my very great privilege to know her through both of my professions, medicine and performing.  She radiated kindness and goodwill wherever she went and I will miss her lovely smile.

We , at Salon on Hagood, had the honor  of seeing Virginia Mae almost every week.  She was always such a blessing to everyone    We will miss her wonderful stories of theater and growing up in Birmingham.   She always said my my how things have changed,  Well you know when I was a girl... We would all listen intently for a great adventure.   She will be missed. I feel so blessed to have been the Goddaughter of Ginger Mae.  She and Mother (Katherine Purifoy Godejohn) were best friends.  Ginger Mae touched so many lives in the most positive way.  She will be greatly missed.  Thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I have been very fortunate to have worked for Ms. Schmitt over the past year.  She was an inspiration to any age person.   Ms. Schmitt told me that her secret to a long life was to never give up.  I loved her and was so thankful for the time we spent together.

Gin was so much fun and a special part of our family.  She will be deeply missed.

Virginia Mae is part of so many of my memories of Beta Sigma Phi, always smiling and spreading the light of her torch through her sisterhood with so many.  She will be so missed.  She touched many hearts and will always be our "sister".

Virginia Mae was one of the dearest women I have ever met in my life.  She was a true Beta Sigma Phi,demonstating only the good, only the true, only the beautiful.  She leaves quite a legacy for other Beta Sigma Phi members to live up to. If you ever met her, you walked away a much better person for it.  She will be truly missed by all her "SISTERS".
