HEWLETT, WILLIAM H. “SPECK”, age 95, of Hoover, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth F. Hewlett; brother, David Wofford Hewlett; and sister, Rebecca Hewlett. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Hewlett Taylor (Dale); and several nieces and nephews. Speck proudly served in the Army during WWII and retired from Barber Milk Co. He was a member of Clay United Methodist Church. His family will receive friends on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 5-7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Forest Hill Cemetery beginning at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VA Safe Harbor Pallative Care Unit Birmingham or Hand in Paw Birmingham.
