

He dedicated his life to the legal profession. He practiced election and campaign law, political law, employment law, and civil rights.
He received his BA and Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama. He began practicing law in 1971 and had a distinguished career spanning 54 years.
Some of his professional achievements include serving as General Counsel to the Alabama Democratic Party from 1981 to 1986. He also worked for the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in Washington, D.C. (Voting Rights Project).
He was the co-author of the USERRA Manual, which assists veterans re-entering civilian life.
He served as an adjunct professor at institutions in Alabama and Washington, D.C., including his tenure at the Birmingham School of Law from 2005 to 2009.
He was honored as a 2008 Super Lawyer and served on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and the Alabama Advisory Committee.
A devoted Episcopalian, he served in several leadership capacities, most recently as a lector at Saint Alban's Episcopal Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilson Edward Still, Sr. and Ollie Still, as well as his children’s mother, Elizabeth Rich Still-Griffith.
He is survived by his loving wife, Florence Moore Still of Birmingham; his children, Griffith Still (Angelia) of Birmingham and Martin Still of Florida; stepdaughter Cathy Gzebk (Scott) of Pennsylvania; stepdaughter Jennifer Creamer of South Carolina; stepson Andrew Moore (Maggie) of California; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and his sister Amanda Humber (John) of Tuscaloosa.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Saint Alban's Episcopal Church:
