

Winston received his education in the New York City Public School system. He graduated from Haaren High School. Winston served in the United States Army during the Korean War, from which he was honorably discharged.
On September 25, 1954, he married Sarah Williamson (predeceased). From this union, two sons were born, Kevin and Stanley (predeceased).
Winston served thirty-four years with the United States Postal Service. He continued his education by completing management courses. At retirement, he was the Supervisor of the Carrier Station of the Bronx General Post Office. He was loved by his employees.
Winston moved to Birmingham, Alabama in 1994. He joined Saint John African Methodist Episcopal Church – Birmingham. Winston was a very active member and served in various capacities. He loved being the Audio Operator and being one of the original members of the “Soul Searchers” Male Chorus. Winston was also an active member of the Lay Organization, where he served as the Treasurer and Financial Secretary. In 2016, Winston moved his membership to Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church – Smithfield, where he also served as a member of the Lay Organization.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted friend, Sharyn Menzies; a son, Kevin Belle (Deborah); a daughter, Jaqueline Borrowes (James); a granddaughter, Kristina Belle; great-grandson, Kaesun Belle; a special nephew, Melvin Farrah; a nephew Paul Farrah (Joann); a loving daughter-in-law, Angeline Boice; Godson, Daniel C. Martin, Jr.; loving family members, Gia Brinson (Derek), Dina Martin (Daniel); Dr. Kem Steward, (Darryl); Dr. Nicole Stokes; A special friend and favorite Sunday School Teacher, Edna Hatcher; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020 from 10:00am-11:00am in the chapel of Ridout's Elmwood Chapel located at 800 Dennison Ave. SW Birmingham, AL. 35211 with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am. Burial will follow immediately at Elmwood Cemetery with military honors. Due to the concerns surrounding Covid-19, and in compliance with city & county ordinances gatherings of 10 or more are prohibited and social distance is required.
