

Annabelle Adkins, age 83, of Bloomington, died Wednesday morning at Jill’s House, Inc. Born January 2, 1935 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Harvey and Ola Mae (Hawkins) Woods. Annabelle worked in the restaurant business all her life and served over 20 years as the primary cook at Alpha Epsilon Pi at Indiana University. She and her husband, Jim, were married for 55 years. They traveled to area churches and nursing centers singing and playing music together during their retirement years. Annabelle loved her family, music and cooking for her loved ones. She was a member of the Smithville Christian Church where her faith was very important to her.
Annabelle is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Shellie and Rick Sparks, Kim and Jeff Pershing and Kris and Jeff Sullivan, all of Bloomington; six grandchildren, Chad Sparks, Brittany (Rob) Domaschko, Sophie Pershing, Jordan Bowers, and Emma and Isaac Sullivan and four great-grandchildren, Tucker Domaschko, Jake Bowers, Ryne Bowers and Huck Bowers.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Adkins, one daughter, Debbie Adkins, her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third Street. Private family graveside services will be held after the gathering on Saturday at the Solsberry Cemetery.
The family suggests to those who wish may make memorial contributions to Smithville Christian Church or to the Alzheimers Association.
