

Brenda Lau Prosser passed away on January 25th 2026 in Bloomington, Indiana. Brenda was born in 1939 in York, Pennsylvania, daughter of Curtis and Mary (Herbst) Lau. At the age of 12, she and her family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she completed high school, and where she met her future husband Franklin. Brenda and Franklin were married in 1959, and settled in Bloomington, Indiana in 1960, where they resided to the present day.
Brenda was known for her infectious smile and laughter. She loved playing tennis, was a Master Gardener, and enjoyed organizing bible study. During their life together, Brenda and Franklin loved the outdoors, including camping and backpacking in the Smoky Mountains and America’s west. They also enjoyed bicycling, particularly riding their tandem bicycle together all over the rural roads of south-central Indiana. Brenda especially loved children and relished the upbringing of her own children, Edward and Andrea, and doting on her grandchildren.
Brenda leaves behind her loving husband of 66 years Franklin Prosser; children Andrea Prosser and Edward Prosser; siblings Doris Gilchrist, and Jeffrey Lau, and grandchildren Theron, Viggo, Samuel, and Chloe.
