Doris “Wanetta” Ridge Stephens, 96 of Kissimmee, Florida and formerly of Bloomington died December 21, 2016 in Kissimmee, Florida. She was born September 4, 1920 in Smithville to Andrew Jackson “Jack” Ridge and Doshia Cox Ridge.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Shoe of Plant City, Florida; four grandchildren, Stephen Shoe, Timothy Shoe and twins Stephanie Shoe Anderson and Douglas Shoe; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie Nichols Creech; and a brother, Jerry Ridge. She was preceded in death her parents; her husband of 52 years, William “Dale” Stephens; a son-in-law, Wesley Shoe; two sisters, Wanda Chandler and Bernice Ingram; and a brother, Willis “Earl” Ridge.
Doris was a 35 year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Haines City, Florida. She had worked at RCA prior to moving away in 1956.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third St. with Roy Briles officiating. A private burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
