Bette was the first president of the first local Bloomington chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. In her early years she worked in the art department of The Bloomington Herald Times. She retired from Fountain Federal Savings and Loan as a bank teller. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Bette is survived by her daughter, Christy Solomon; her son, Steve (Betty) Lloyd; three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a niece, Sharon (Bill) Hazel; and many other beloved family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Phillip Lloyd; and three children, Judith Lloyd, Phillip Lloyd, Jr. and Reginald Lloyd.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 20, 2013 at Day Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
