Obituary of Eva "Jo" Joan Crozier
Eva Joan "Jo" Crozier, age 91, of Bloomington finished her earthly hike on Monday morning November 18, 2019. Born March 19, 1928 in New Albany, Indiana, she was the daughter of Wilbur H. and Mary Katherine (Friedly) Taylor. Jo had formerly worked as the Public Relations Coordinator for the Monroe County YMCA. and was a long-standing member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and Brown County Walking Women. Jo is survived by her daughters, Connie Petersen (Carl) of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Vickie Edmiston (John) of Bloomington, Amy Jo Crozier of Bloomington and grandsons Robert and Charles Hocker, of Bloomington, sister Mary Helen Imel of Fishers, Indiana, one niece Barbara, nephews Charles, Eric, Bill, Ernie and David, and one rescued senior wiener dog,Doc. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harvey F. Crozier, in 1997, two brothers, Charles and Wilbur Taylor, Jr., and one nephew Steve. Jo's love of hiking and nature took her around the world where she looked for joy in each day. Jo's backpacking adventures included both the Appalachian Trail and Pennine Way in its entirety, Pikes Peak, Grand Canyon, Mt. Whitney, and Death Valley, where Park Rangers assured her she would not survive. There will be no services or visitation at this time. A celebration of life will be planned for Spring 2020.
